About the Crew
The West Jersey Trail Crew, in it's 17th year, does all aspects of trail work in western New Jersey's parks and forests. During our Spring and Fall work seasons, we meet mostly on Saturdays. We work on projects like restoring trails that have been damaged by over-use, remediation of erosion, bridges and step-stone stream crossings, stone retaining walls and steps to support steep trails, and our favorite - building a completely new trail.
Where We Work
We work on projects in parks in Western New Jersey:
- High Point State Park
- Stokes State Forest
- Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
- Worthington State Forest
- Jenny Jump State Park
- Appalachian Trail (regionally)
- Swartswood State Park
- Wawayanda State Park
All are welcome (under 18 need permissions), no matter what your experience at trail work is. We will be happy to teach you - all we ask is that you come ready to work hard and have a great time with some really great people.
We supply all the tools, you bring your lunch, water, gloves, hard hat and weather-appropriate clothing. We will send an email notification to everybody early in the week of a work trip, detailing the what-where-when details.
